Tyrolean Zugspitze Cable Car

A ten minute ride up the Zugspitze mountain, which, at 2,962 m, is the highest mountain in Tyrol’s Zugspitz Arena region. In good visibility it is possible to see hundreds of summits in four different countries. Zugspitze museum and events at the summit such as sunrise trips or full moon trips (‘Zugspitze by Night’).

Ziegenpeter (Farm Shop)

Lots and lots of goats (‘Ziegen’ in German), as well as organic specialties made of goat’s milk e.g. ice cream. Tours available.

Tuftalm View Point

There are numerous wonderful viewpoints but this viewing platform at the Tuftl Alm really is something special!

Alpine Brewery

Stadl-Bräu is a small craft brewery, which is also the highest brewery in Austria. It was only built in 1995 and since then it has been using fresh mountain spring water to brew three of its own beers. Tours available.

Boat Trip on Heiterwanger See

A boat trip in the MS Margarethe or the MS Willhelm on this crystal clear lake and the connecting Plansee lake - the second largest body of water in Tyrol - is an exciting occasion for the whole family. From mid May to mid October.

Schnapps Distillery in Ehrwald

Home-made speciality spirits for anyone who enjoys premium spirits and other treats.

Bichlbach Petting Zoo

Goats and rabbits can be experienced up close and personal at the Bichlbach Petting Zoo, as well as exotic animals such as monkeys and llamas - and many more animals besides! Children and their parents can use ladders to get into the enclosures of many of the animals to stroke and pet them.

Bichlbach Ropes Course

Five courses of climbing fun, with over 60 climbing components such as a hanging trapeze, a giant spider web and a zip wire over a mountain stream. Special beginners’ course for children aged over six, with heights that children manage with ease.

The Ehrenberg Castle Ruins (18 km)

The ‘Burgenwelt’ cluster of castles in Ehrenberg is impressive, with its 700 years of history and the interactive museum tracing the footsteps of knights. It is close to the royal castles of Ludwig II: Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen (22 km)

The pedestrianised zone of this stylish Olympic town is a very pretty place for a stroll.

Knappenwelt Gurgltal (31 km)

Find out what it was like to live and work as a miner (‘Bergknappe’ in German) in medieval times - fascinatingly presented at this open-air museum.

Ettal Abbey (37 km)

Founded in 1330, it has been home to a Benedictine community ever since. It includes a brewery, a distillery, an inn, an art publishing house, a secondary school (‘Gymnasium’) and an impressive baroque abbey church.

Hohenschwangau Castle in Füssen (39 km)

Schwanstein Castle was built in the twelfth century and later fell into ruin, but in 1830, crown prince Maximilian of Bavaria liked it so much that he had it re-built in neo-gothic style. (‘Königsschlösser’ combined tickets for the royal castles)

Neuschwanstein Castle (40 km)

World famous fairy tale castle near Füssen, built in the style of a medieval castle during the reign of King Ludwig II of Bavaria between 1869 and 1886.

Linderhof Palace (46 km)

Set in the bounds of a spacious park within a wood, this is another ‘Schloss’ built by Ludwig II of Bavaria. Sometimes called the “Royal Villa&#8221, it features a Venus Grotto and the Moorish Kiosk.

‘Ötzidorf’ Village in Umhausen (65 km)

An archaeological open-air museum that takes you through time to the Neolithic period.

Stuibenfall Waterfall in Umhausen (67 km)

An impressive, foaming spectacle of nature - at 159 m, it is the highest waterfall in Tyrol!

Innsbruck (82 km)

The proud ‘Capital of the Alps’ is situated in the idyllic location on the Inn river with the Alps as a backdrop. Its many attractions include the Imperial Palace, the famous Golden Roof, the Bergisel Stadium and the ‘Alpenzoo’.

Swarovski Crystal Worlds - Wattens (97 km)

Illuminated crystals in imaginative designs form new worlds - Chambers of Wonder, crystal clouds, family activities in the Giant and much, much more!

Silver Mine at Schwaz (105 km)

The mine railway takes you down under the ground. The largest silver mine of the medieval period teaches you about life and work for the miners and about the era of the silver bloom.

Munich (111 km)

Chic and magnificent yet down-to-earth - Munich’s special atmosphere is fascinating, not to mention its many attractions such as the Frauenkirche church, the town hall with its world-famous chimes, the Hofbräuhaus beer hall and the English Garden.
